A Journey Through Time

Established in 1966, The Village School, nestled in the heart of Houston, Texas, embarked on a humble journey with just a handful of eager minds. Under the stewardship of Betty Moore in 1973, it began its ascent toward greatness. With each passing milestone, the school blossomed, relocating to a larger campus on Memorial Drive in 1981 and expanding its program to encompass students from preschool to grade 4 in 1983.

Building Dreams, Brick by Brick

The year 1984 heralded a new chapter as the school unveiled three new buildings, a testament to its growing ambitions. With expanded facilities came increased opportunities, welcoming more students into its nurturing embrace. Grade 5 was added, paving the way for nearly 400 students to thrive within its walls. Subsequent years witnessed further growth, with grade 6 joining the fold in 1988 and grade 7 following suit in 1991.

A Tapestry of Excellence

In 2006, The Village School took a bold step forward, joining the prestigious Meritas group of schools. This affiliation marked a commitment to excellence and opened doors to a wider educational landscape. The dawn of 2009 saw the birth of the high school program, igniting the aspirations of over 50 9th graders. With each passing year, another grade was added, culminating in the graduation of the inaugural grade 12 class in 2012.

Pioneering Progress

As the years rolled by, The Village School continued to push boundaries and redefine standards. The year 2014 ushered in a new era of expansion, with a sprawling 15-acre development taking shape. From additional classrooms to state-of-the-art facilities, every brick laid was a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to holistic education. In 2015, the school joined forces with Nord Anglia Education, amplifying its global footprint and enriching its academic offerings.

From clinching statewide titles in soccer to triumphs on the football field, the school’s sporting prowess knows no bounds. With a diverse curriculum that encompasses the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and specialized tracks such as Entrepreneurship and Pre-Medical Science, the school caters to the unique aspirations of each student.
